Amazon is expanding its North Carolina data center investment through a multiyear, multibillion-dollar agreement with Corning for optical fiber and connectivity, a deal set to create 1,000 jobs at Corning's North Carolina facilities. The companies will also expand a fiber technician training program at Catawba Valley Community College. The agreement adds to Amazon's planned $10 billion North Carolina cloud buildout and its more than $20 billion invested in the state since 2010.
